Catrìona Lexy Chaimbeul is a young author. She has written a previous novel for teenage readers, Balach Beag a Mhàthar, published by Acair in 2001. She is a philosophy graduate of Edinburgh University and is currently involved in organising drama workshops for children throughout the Highlands. The work is illustrated by Johnny Stormonth-Darling. This book contains six modern fairy tales in Gaelic told in an engaging and romping fashion to connect with young people. The dramatic illustrations provide added value to what must surely become a modern Gaelic original for children well into their teenage years.
