RELEASED APRIL 2012
Maraiche nan Cuantan is one of the most well-known songs in the contemporary Gaelic culture of Scotland, and was composed by Flòraidh NicPhàil from Tiree.
Now, for the first time in print, readers have the opportunity to read for themselves the full extent of Flòraidh’s poetic talents in this exquisite poetry collection, including translations by the poet.
Though Flòraidh often took inspiration from her own people and the natural envoironment – the topics of her poems are thus that people from all over the world could relate to them.
The cover of the book is from an original painting by her sister Christine who now lives in the United States. The book contains further examples of Christine’s work, as well as family photographs.
